Discovery 4 has another award ‘under its bonnet’ after it was named 'Best 4x4' at the annual Diesel Car, Car of the Year Awards 2010.

What’s more the awards saw an all-Land Rover line-up in the final with Freelander 2 and the Range Rover beaten to the top spot by its sibling.

The award marks yet another milestone on its journey to be one of the most decorated 4x4s, as was its predecessor Discovery 3, for the latest generation Land Rover Discovery 4, which also won ‘Best 4x4’ , at the prestigious What Car? Awards 2010, earlier this year.

Ian Robertson, editor of Diesel Car Magazine said: "The British firm's 2010 range is simply the best ever. The Discovery 4 has always been unbeatable off-road, and now it has the on-road ace to match, with decent road manners and top notch refinement."

There have been even more accolades for Land Rover recently including 23,000 readers of Auto Express, who voted the Land Rover Discovery 3 as the country's most practical in the annual Auto Express Driver Power Awards, Britain's top car reliability survey – voted for by car owners.

And it’s not just the British who recognise the ‘awarding’ ways of the Land Rover range: the flagship of the Land Rover range, the 2010 Model Year Range Rover has been awarded 'Best Full-Size Off-Road Vehicle’ at the Car of the Year awards in Moscow, Russia. Whilst in America, Range Rover has been awarded the Winter Vehicle Award in the Best in Class-Premium Sport Utility Vehicle/Crossover by members of the New England Motor Press Association.
